I wanted to
briefly share what I’m noticing right now, as it may help you better understand
what your body is asking for. I’ve been noticing patients present with stiffness,
low energy and posture holding (hunched over), which is a very normal way
the body responds to the colder temperatures and adjusts to less light.
Supplement of the Month: Vitamin D3!
One gentle support I often discuss around this time is Vitamin D3. It
supports not only strong bones as it helps with Calcium metabolism but is a
main player in the production of hormones and neurotransmitters. This time of year, low light alone can
change how the body feels.
Service spotlight: Chiropractic
When I see patterns like this, one tool I often use is heat and
electrical stim (the TENS unit). It can be especially helpful when muscles
are tight, and those stubborn spots are stiff and achy. The body adapts best when it feels safe (and
warm).
This month’s reminder: When the body
isn’t getting enough light, the nervous system often compensates with
tension.
Self-care tip: Morning
light, gentle movements. (stretch, Tai
Chi, Qigong).
If this brings up questions, feel free to reply to this email or
mention it on your next visit. I’m always happy to help you think it through. There is a link below to make an appointment.
